# SECTION 3: THE INSPECTION (DAY OF)
# 1. Aloft App
We like this app because it shows you all the information about the airspace you want to know in an easy-to-read format. If you need to get a LAANC it will send you to the Aloft (formerly Kittyhawk) app to request that.
# 2. Check Activities Session
When dispatch calls the insureds, they will at times add notes in the Activities session that are important for you to know. You might find out certain damages which have already been reported by the insured which will be extremely important while you are onsite collecting images, especially for claim inspections. Knowing this information prior to arriving onsite helps instill confidence in the insured and our carrier partners, letting them know we (Eberl) are a professional organization that pays attention to the details.
# 3. Onsite Communication
Upon arrival, the inspector will approach the resident/property and ALWAYS knock on the front door to acknowledge who you are, what company you are with and who you are representing along with the reason for their visit BEFORE initiating and performing ANY inspection.
It is a good idea to use the following script to introduce yourself to the insured:
"Hello Mr. or Mrs. ________, My name is ________ and I'm with Eberl. I have been assigned and am here to conduct the exterior and interior (if applicable) inspection of your home on behalf of (Insurance Carrier), your homeowner's insurance company. I will be taking some photos with a drone and with my camera. When I'm done, we will send these photos to (Insurance Carrier). Once reviewed, if any action is needed by you, your agent/adjuster will be in touch with you."
Always dress with a Eberl polo shirt, badge, and hat to identify yourself professionally.
Note EVERY action in the Feedback session.
# 4. Eberl360™ Mobile Images
We (Eberl) like to call the Elevation and Interior portion with the mobile images (Mobile part). The beauty of our Eberl360™ App for the Mobile part (ground level) is that we have built in the inspection process along with the required shot list in this application. If you are certified by our Eberl Academy and follow the inspection guideline in this app, you should be able to complete the inspection for both claims and underwriting, successfully.
# 5. Preflight Your Drone
Make sure propellers are secure, nothing is cracked, you have a viable spot to takeoff without obstructions and are able to follow the drone keeping a VLOS. In addition, our Eberl360™ app also assists you with your preflight checklist including your battery level, SD card storage, compass accuracy, magnetic interference, etc. to make sure your drone can take off safely and that you can complete this mission successfully. Before going into drone images, wait for the preflight to complete. Do not push continue when the app gives you the option and get started right away, wait a little longer for the green light prior to takeoff. Re-fly’s always happen because of impatience, not following your drone around the property and rushing.
# 6. Eberl360™ Drone Images
This app is fully integrated with more than 13 models of drones, which are the most popular consumer-level drones in the market, including the latest version of DJI drones such as Mavic Air 2S. It is also integrated with DJI Smart Controller. Please check out here on how to install the Eberl360™ app on your Smart Controller: Download App . It offers autonomous flight and manual flight models with customized flight patterns for claims and underwriting inspections. It is the most intelligent and easy-to-use drone application specifically designed for property claims and underwriting inspections to make your inspection as easy as possible.
